Weekly update 26/09/2024

26 Sep 2024

Our Vision

We believe that our children should have the aspiration and opportunity to ‘Live life in all its fullness’ and ‘Shine like stars in the sky’.

New this week…
Rocket Class News
A big well done to all of the children in Rockets who are saying goodbye to their parents on the bark and coming into the classroom themselves!  This has really helped to ease congestion and upset in the classroom as well as allowing us to get the morning off to a smoother start.  Thank you to parents for your support with this.

KS1 Trip to National Railway Museum
We are delighted to confirm that sufficient contributions have been received for this trip to go ahead on Wednesday 9th October.  So far no parents have contacted us to say they require a school packed lunch.  Please note that today is the last day for this as Sharon needs to do her food order.  Children will need to come to school in their full uniform (including a coat) and bag containing their packed lunch and a water bottle.

Attendance
We would like to take this opportunity to highlight how important regular attendance at school is, and to share with parents some new statutory guidance on attendance from the DFE in August 2024.
Please see the information attached. This has also been added to the website page on attendance.

Wild Workshop
On Monday 30th September, Key Stage 1 have Wild Workshops in school.  They are doing an immersive session to recap your child's learning on Animals and their habitats from last year.  The children will be foraging around the school's grounds to find resources to make a mouse a home for one of the activities.  I hope they have a brilliant hands on experience.

Reminders
Forest School:
On Friday 27th September Rocket Class (Nursery, Reception and Year 1) will be in the Forest in the morning.  Please send your child in with appropriate clothing.  Many thanks.
