Weekly Update 24.04.26
23 Apr 2026
We believe that our children should have the aspiration and opportunity to ‘Live life in all its fullness’ and ‘Shine like stars in the sky’.
Spotlights from Learning…
In
Rocket Class this week, the EYFS children have enjoyed lots of outside play, with a big interest in hide and seek games. They have demonstrated their counting skills as well as their communication and turn taking skills. Their chatter and laughter have been lovely to hear!
The KS1 children had a fantastic time in their Science workshop with Emma on Monday. They explored materials and made slime, with one child declaring it "the most fun ever!" Have they told you all about it?
In
Comet Class, we have continued to follow Lion’s journey to the Eiffel Tower. It is this experience that really helps Lion to feel excited to be in Paris, so much so that we (in role as Lion) have decided to write a postcard home to tell his family all about it! We have done lots of research and found out all sorts of interesting facts about the Eiffel Tower. Can you remember…how tall it is? How many rivets are used to hold it together? What nickname does it have? How often it is repainted? If you can’t remember, you can check these facts and much more at:

This week in
Asteroid Class, we have been looking at classifying animals into different groups as well as starting our Geography unit on rainforests. Can you tell your adult the 2 different types of rainforests and where they can be located? We have also been creating collages in art before we design and make a 3D sculpture. Well done Years 5 and 6 for a super Striking Games Competition at Outwood, great team spirit and sportsmanship. I heard you had the best manners to the helpers and organisers.
WORD OF THE WEEK
Our next word to explore is:
The children are encouraged to find out what the word means and perhaps use it in a sentence or explore its etymology. Their efforts are then displayed in the hall. Although aimed more at the KS2 children, everyone is welcome to join in.
Remember to look out for more details of our learning for the term ahead on our class pages on the school website.
NATIONAL TRUST CARD
Have you or anyone you know lost a National Trust card? We have had one handed in and have it safe in the school office. Just call in or let us know the name on the card so that we can return it.
Reminders…
