Our Vision
We believe that our children should have the aspiration and opportunity to ‘Live life in all its fullness and ‘Shine like stars in the sky’. To have the courage to act with kindness, patience, love and peace in all the communities they serve in.

In school next week….

School Photographs

Rachel-Evelyn from Sweetpea Photography will be in school on Thursday 13th July to take our annual school photographs.
Rachel will be working during the day to take photos of the children individually and with their siblings in school. She will also be taking a group photo of the Y6 students.
If you would like to have a photo of your child with a younger sibling (children not yet at our school), these photos will take place at 8.45am. Parents should go directly to the hall for these; a member of staff will be on hand to deliver the children to class once these are complete.

North Yorkshire Music Service
These sessions will continue for Asteroid Class each Friday afternoon. Please ensure your child’s instrument is in school on this day.

Forest School
This will continue every Wednesday morning until the end of term.  Despite the warm weather, please ensure all Nursery children have a kit that covers their arms and legs as the children will still be amongst the trees, nettles, climbing mud banks etc!  Waterproofs and wellies are also still required.
Asteroids will have a morning on Fri 14th July to work on our Golden Thread theme.

Monday, 10th July - Love Science Workshop.
We have been really lucky in securing Emma for Love Science who is coming into school on Monday to work with each class.  She is going to be doing fun and exciting experiments on germs and making your own blood, which recaps and reinforces our learning from the Humans and Bodies unit done last year.

PE
Please could children have a Summer PE kit in school which includes shorts, t-shirt and trainers/plimsolls.  They should also have a sunhat, sun cream (already applied or in book bags) and a water bottle every day.  Please could any children that attend Nursery on Thursdays also have a PE kit with them. PE is on a Thursday afternoon.

Other Information

Exciting news for the summer holidays...

West Tanfield Tennis Club have very generously offered families at our school the opportunity to play tennis for free on Friday afternoons during the school holidays.

The club will open the courts from 2.00 to 4.00pm on Friday afternoons, from the 29th of July until the 1st of Sept for children from our school.

Children can play providing they come with an adult (parent or friend) who may also play and who must be responsible for their behaviour and safety whilst they are at the courts.

A club member will open the courts at 2.00pm and close them at 4.00pm; school will provide rackets for the children to use, and the club will provide tennis balls.

There is no need for families to book.

A huge thank you to the tennis club for this very kind offer. We hope that families enjoy this opportunity over the summer.

Well family fun day

Well Playground Committee invite you to their family fun day on 30th July from 1pm-4pm to get to know other families in the area and for the kids to have fun together at the park in Well. There will be a bouncy castle, marquee for cover and Miles Fitness will be running some sports activities for the kids. Come down and enjoy an afternoon of fun.
