Weekly Update 19.12.25
19 Dec 2025
We believe that our children should have the aspiration and opportunity to ‘Live life in all its fullness’ and ‘Shine like stars in the sky’.
A MESSAGE FROM MRS TAYLOR
As the Christmas season approaches, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your continued support and for the lovely gifts and cards received by school.
It has been a term filled with hard work, exciting opportunities and many achievements, and I am incredibly proud of our whole school community.
I hope the festive break offers everyone the chance to rest, recharge and enjoy special moments with family and friends.
On behalf of all the staff and governors, I wish you a very Merry Christmas and a happy, healthy and peaceful New Year.
We look forward to welcoming everyone back in the New Year, refreshed and ready for the opportunities ahead.
HUGE THANKS…
…also from all the staff for all the goodies and kind wishes that have filled the staff room and kept us all going over the last week or two! It has been a lovely run up to the Christmas break with all the children making us so proud with their festive cheer and hard work. A special mention to Rocket Class who blew everyone’s socks off with their amazing performance of What a Star!
Please do remember that everyone is more than welcome to join us for our Carols around the Tree celebration in the school this afternoon at 1.30pm. This will be led by the KS2 children and will be a lovely way to finish the term.
School closes at 2pm and reopens on Tuesday 6
th January.
SCHOOL ADMIN
We would just like to let you know that Miss Tucker has decided to step down from her position as school administrator. We thank her for her time with us and wish her well for the future.
Mrs Fisher, who has been supporting us with admin work this term, has kindly agreed to continue to help out. Many thanks for your patience and understanding over the last months.
Reminder…
CHANGE OF PLAN
As you know,
Year Three, Four, Five and Six children will be going to see
‘A Christmas Carol’ at Leeds Playhouse after the Christmas break. This will actually now be on
Friday 9th January 2026 for an
afternoon performance. Many thanks to all those who have already responded to consent to the revised arrangements. If you are yet to do so, this can be done via the email sent last Friday.
We will leave school at 11.30 am arriving back to school at approximately 5.30 – 5.45pm. As last year, the children will require a packed lunch to take with them to eat ahead of the performance.
Please can any remaining orders for a packed lunch from Sharon be with us by Tuesday 6th January.
Please ensure that no items are included which contain nuts, sesame or prawns.
The cost of the trip is £16.00 per child and we ask parents to support us by making a voluntary contribution of this amount. Please check your ParentPay account to make the payment or speak to us in confidence if you are experiencing difficulties.
WORD OF THE WEEK
To help children develop their vocabulary and a love of words, a focus ‘word of the week’ is introduced each week for the children to investigate. This week’s word is:
The children are encouraged to find out what the word means and perhaps use it in a sentence or explore its etymology. Their efforts are then displayed in the hall. Although aimed more at the KS2 children, everyone is welcome to join in.

Online safety support for neurodivergent children
Online scams like trust trades and fake giveaways can cause harm and upset to all children, but neurodivergent children are at greater risk of falling victim to scams.
Internet Matters have worked with Ambitious about Autism and Roblox to create new resources to help families with neurodivergent children learn and stay safe from scams within games.
There’s a guide for parents, a video for children and young people, plus stories for families to read and discuss together to explore the risks, with practical actions for children to take to help stay protected.
