Weekly Update 10.10.25
10 Oct 2025
We believe that our children should have the aspiration and opportunity to ‘Live life in all its fullness’ and ‘Shine like stars in the sky’.
HARVEST FESITVAL
It was lovely to all come together in church yesterday for our Harvest Service. The children really appreciated your support and encouragement. Many thanks for all the wonderful donations. The School Council will be busy next week making sure that everything gets to where it needs to go!
SAFEGUARDING IN SCHOOL
As you will know, the safeguarding of our pupils is always our first priority. All staff are highly trained in safeguarding and this is updated at regular intervals. The school has robust systems and policies in place which ensure our children are kept safe at all times whilst on school site or online. These systems are regularly reviewed and checked by the senior leadership team, governors, school improvement adviser and the safeguarding officer sand health and safety officers for North Yorkshire. Some of you may have noticed Susan Marshall, our school improvement adviser, was in school last week to review these and I am pleased to share she has reported that safeguarding practice and culture in school is exemplary, as is behaviour of pupils.
PARENT SURVEY
Thank you to all the parents who have taken the time to feedback on our parent voice surveys. The majority of these were overwhelmingly positive reflecting how happy and safe our pupils are. Please remember that we have an open-door policy at school and, should you have any concerns at any point, please make an appointment with school so these can be shared and resolved moving forward.
CLUBS
Thank you to parents for bearing with us this term. Due to an increasing number of children on roll in school, we have had a significant increase in the number of children attending after school club which has limited places for our enrichment cubs.
I am delighted to share that we have appointed Mrs Helen Dibb to be our second leader at after school club and therefore we can extend the places and offer for enrichment clubs.
The following clubs are now available to book for after the half-term holiday. Places will be allocated on a first come first served basis and are now open for booking via the admin email address.

WORD OF THE WEEK
To help children develop their vocabulary and a love of words, a focus ‘word of the week’ is introduced each week for the children to investigate. This week’s word is:
The children are encouraged to find out what the word means and perhaps use it in a sentence or explore its etymology. Their efforts are then displayed in the hall. Although aimed more at the KS2 children, everyone is welcome to join in.
