Weekly Update 27.06.25

27 Jun 2025

We believe that our children should have the aspiration and opportunity to ‘Live life in all its fullness’ and ‘Shine like stars in the sky’.

WELLBEING DAY AT STUDFOLD
We are looking forward to our visit to Studfold Adventure Trail on Monday.  Just a reminder that children have been asked to wear school uniform ie polo shirt/school jumper but will need sensible footwear such as trainers as this is an outdoor activity.  It is recommended that long trousers suitable for the outdoors are also worn.  Jogging bottoms or leggings are fine on this occasion.  If you have not ordered a packed lunch from school, you will need to provide this and a water bottle.  Please apply sun cream at home if needed.

MOANA
Next week, the Year Three children will be joining their Asteroid friends for rehearsals at Kirkby Malzeard School on Tuesday and Wednesday in preparation for the performances on Friday 4th July.  They will need a packed lunch*.  They will also need to bring their T-shirt ready to take with them to decorate on Tuesday morning please.

On Wednesday 2nd July Reception, Year One and Year Two will be travelling to Kirkby Malzeard School to watch the dress rehearsal of Moana.  They will leave school by coach at 11.30am and will return by the end of the school day.  We are going to enjoy a picnic lunch on the school field so ALL children will need a packed lunch from either home or school.  Any orders for a school packed lunch should already have been submitted to Mrs Clegg (see email sent out earlier in the week).

You should have received a separate letter with the arrangements for the rehearsal and performances on Friday, including ticket allocation.  Payment for tickets can now be made via ParentPay.

*Important Note on Allergies:
We would like to remind everyone that we have children in our school community with severe allergies. Please be aware that nuts, legumes, sesame seeds and shellfish must not be included in any food brought from home. Your cooperation is essential in helping us maintain a safe environment for all our pupils.

FOREST SCHOOL
Just a reminder that children in Nursery to Year Two need a long sleeve top and full-length trousers for forest school on Wednesday afternoon.  Please could you also ensure that you send your child with waterproofs?  Whilst we have some spare waterproofs in school, each week more and more children are relying on school spares and we don't have enough for everybody.  Thank you for your support with this.

There will be an additional Forest School session coming up as follows:
Friday 11th July for N-Y2
On this occasion, children should come to school dressed in their Forest School kit and will then change into PE kits for the afternoon sessions.

RESIDENTIAL @ BEWERLEY PARK
Payments for this can now be made via ParentPay.

MUSIC TUITION
It has been wonderful to see the progress that the KS2 children have made in their brass lessons with Mr Bryant over the course of the year.  We hope to be able to showcase this in a performance for parents before we break up for the summer.  In case any of the children are now inspired to take up an instrument, small group or individual tuition is available via the North Yorkshire Music Service.
