Children's Mental Health Week

31 Jan 2021

In recognition of this year's Children's Mental Health Week we shall be holding a special 'Wellbeing Wednesday' this week, exploring ideas to promote a happy body, happy mind and happy soul.  This year's theme is 'Express Yourself' and we invite all our St Nicholas community, whether learning at home or at school, to join us by wearing 'whatever makes you happy' this Wednesday 3rd February.
To mark the start of Children's Mental Health Week, the Duchess of Cambridge has sent a message of support not just to children but to parents too, encouraging everyone to find ways to share their thoughts and feelings, particularly during such a challenging time.  Click on the image below to hear her message:

During the video message, the Duchess highlights the crucial need for parents and carers to look after their own mental wellbeing, and the impact that this has on the children in their care.  At school, we know that some days are harder than others...and that's ok.  We will continue to support each other and everyone in our school community through the Christian values of kindness, patience, peace and love which encompass everything we do at St Nicholas CE Primary School.  Please be kind to yourselves - and let us know if we can help in any way.

BAFTA kids and Oak Academy have teamed up with some well-known faces to create this special assembly on the theme of 'Express Yourself'.  Click on the image below to watch it:
