Good morning,
Happy New Year!
Please see below for any updates for the week ahead.
In school next week:
Swimming
Swimming lessons on Wednesday for Rocket Class.
Children will need:

One-piece costume for girls and shorts for boys (no baggy board shorts please).
Towel

We ask that parents help their children to change independently by sending them in polo shirts rather than button shirts and socks rather than tights on these days where possible.
Forest School
Asteroids and Nursery class continue forest school sessions each Wednesday until half term. Children should wear old, comfortable clothes and wellies or trainers for this along with water proof trousers and coats.
General reminders
Naming Clothes
Please ensure all clothes are clearly named so they can be returned to their owners if lost.
Diary dates and Class news letters
These will be uploaded to the website by Monday for the term ahead. Please check the website for these dates.
Clubs
There are still places available in our clubs. The Harrogate Theatre Drama Club is a fantastic opportunity offered free to all children in year 3,4,5,6. Taster sessions are available if your child would like to try a session first.
Communication reminder
How do I contact school?
We ask that as a general rule parents contact school for all enquires via the school office. You can do this by:
· Phone 01677 470329
· Email admin@west-tanfield.n-yorks.sch.uk
The school office hours are 8.30am until 1pm.
Parents are advised to contact teachers via email only when absolutely necessary.
You are encouraged to address minor issues and questions in person with your child’s class teacher rather than via email, or check the school’s website where much of the information is available to parents.
Teachers are available at the end of each school day to talk with parents and address any questions or concerns. Any matters that need to be discussed at length should be done so via a meeting – you can use the teacher’s email address to arrange this meeting. If you need to share something of a sensitive or confidential nature, have a concern or wish to request an in person meeting, this can be emailed to the class teacher.
Class teachers kindly share their emails with parents but we respectfully request that these are only used for the above correspondence and within working hours where possible. Our school’s policy is to respond to all emails, where possible, within three working days. If your concern is urgent, please contact the school office.
